VIRGINIA 10 MILER ANNOUNCES 2020 CANCELLATION

LYNCHBURG, VA – The Lynchburg Road Runners Club announced today that the Genworth Virginia 10 Miler has been cancelled for 2020. This also includes the previously announced virtual Virginia 4 Mile Run presented by Bank of the James and the virtual 4 Mile Walk presented by Centra.
“Our organization has worked tirelessly to navigate the many obstacles presented to us during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Hundreds of hours have been spent considering both known and unknown variables that would affect our ability to present a safe, world-class event, to our community. The decision to cancel this year’s event took into consideration information provided by participants, sponsors, volunteers, medical professionals, and partners.” – Jeff Fedorko, Race Director
Moving forward, the energy of the Lynchburg Road Runners will be focused on next year’s event planned for September 25, 2021.
The 47th running of the world famous Genworth Virginia 10 Miler was to have taken place Saturday September 26, 2020. Last year, more than 4,500 runners and walkers registered for a Virginia 10 Miler event. The mission of the Lynchburg Road Runners is to promote health and wellness in the Lynchburg community through the sport of running.
