Amazement Square is excited to announce the expansion of the Amazing Mile Children's Run. This year three children's races will be offered for children 13 and under.

Race Schedule
6:15pm 1/4 Mile
6:35pm 1/2 Mile
6:50pm 1 Mile
7:10pm 1 Mile




1/4 mile (children ages 0-5) Race will be capped at 150 SOLD OUT
1/2 mile (children ages 6-9) Race will be capped at 200
1 mile (children ages 13 and under) Race will be capped at 400

All three races will be held on Friday, September 27 at Amazement Square in conjunction with the Genworth Virginia 10 Miler packet pick-up and a festival.

May 1 – September 22: $15
Packet Pickup (Sept. 26th & Race Day Sept. 27th if space available:  $20

Packet Pick-Up
Packet pick-up for all races will be held on Thursday, September 26th from 12-7:30pm and Friday September 27th 12-5:00pm in Amazement Square’s Education Warehouse (located behind Amazement Square). Packet Pickup on Friday ends promptly at 5pm. Packets will not be given out after 5pm Friday.

Race Timing
The ¼ and ½ mile races WILL NOT be timed. Only the one mile race will have timing chips. One Mile race results will be posted in the Amazement Square Lobby after the completion of both 1 mile events.

Prizes
Every participant receives a goodie bag, medal, and t-shirt. The top three finishers in each race will receive a special award immediately after finishing the race.

Parent/Guardian Runners
One adult will be able to run with a child in the ¼ and ½ mile races. No adults are allowed in the one mile race.

There will be a designated parent drop-off and pick-up area for the races. Parents will be issued a lanyard in the goodie bag and only adults with the lanyard will be allowed into pick-up/drop-off area.

Baby Joggers/Strollers
Due to the size and density of this event, baby joggers and strollers are prohibited. The inclusion of strollers in races increases the potential for injury to race participants and children.

Race Cancellation Policy
The races will continue rain or shine. Only if there is lightening will the races be cancelled and will NOT be rescheduled. All registered participants can still pick up their goodie bags and t-shirts at the scheduled packet pick-up times. Upon cancellation, participants who show their race t-shirt or number at the museum Friday September 27 through Sunday September 29 will receive two free admissions to the museum.
